Engineer (Product Design)

Located in Florence, SC, this is a great opportunity to work for the worlds largest producer of water heaters and the industry leader in innovation. 

 

Job Responsibilities: Direct, conduct and review performance tests of new, existing and competitor' products. Protoype modeling and design work (CFD and FEA modeling) of new and current products.  Testing of new and current products Reliability planning and testing of product change or new design Confirm final product design and testing to applicable agency standards.  Monitor release of design to manufacturing and assist with all mock-up and trial run requirements Lead and facilitate various design projects Provide hardware and documentation to certification labs to obtain product and agency safety approval. Respond to various requests for information and assistance Provide cost references of designs as required Work with purchasing to procure materials and outside parts and obtain cost and lead time. Check drawings and bills of material for new models and change requests

 

Education/Experience: Bachelors of Science in Engineering (Mechanical Preferred) Experience in the workings and design of boilers/commercial water heaters and their application is highly preferred Minimum of 4 years experience with appliance/consumer products engineering (product planning, data analysis, design development) Experience in gas combustion, thermodynamics/heat transfer modeling or analysis and reliability planning and testing is a bonus
