Engineer-Test Equipment, E/M

 

DESCRIPTION:

·Designing, assembling, troubleshooting and maintaining functional test hardware and systems
·Design and programming of automated test equipment
·Testing hardware design and integration of test system instrumentation, C Programming, Lab View, GUI interface design, data acquisition, processing, operator display, storage and retrieval, circuit design and knowledge of real time systems.
·Test system ergonomics / user safety
·Test system panel layout, wiring, operator interface and information display
·Understanding and specification of all test system component hardware.
·Equipment maintenance / reliability.
·Software revision control and software drivers / libraries.
·Utilize basic hand tools and standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.
·Test system documentation
Will report to the Engineering Manager. Will work on own and in a team environment. Will interface with vendors and other departments, both verbally and in writing.
This is a new position and it is intended to maintain/upgrade/automate existing equipment necessary to keep up with actual and projected growth.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION NEEDED

·Minimum 5 years experience in hardware design of automated test.
·Minimum 5 years experience with Electromechanical, Hydraulic & Pneumatic design
·Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering, or equivalent.
·Interpreting and understanding outline drawings, assembly drawings, schematics, and test procedures
·Identifying and understanding test system component performance specifications and their selection
·Experience with test system software programming, (Lab View, VB, Test Point…)
·Experience with assembling, troubleshooting and maintaining test hardware and systems
·Computer literate in standard office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point and Project.
Key attributes: Good T-Shooting skills, Versatility, Listening, Hands-on, Attention to detail. Must have good knowledge of basic electronics but also of mechanical things.
