Engineering Associate/Technician

The Power Management Systems Business of Spectrum Control, Inc. is looking to expand our product capabilities through the hiring of an Engineering Associate.  The individual selected for this position will perform an important role by assisting Engineers in the solving of technical problems in advanced power product designs for the industrial, commercial and government markets.  The successful candidate will work closely with the Product Design Engineer to build and set-up test equipment, run experiments, collect data, calculate results, recommend solution to problems, and present alternate ways to produce products more efficiently.  The individual will work with team members within the manufacturing organization to help troubleshoot production issues and also work closely with Product Engineers to validate the product's capability.  The preferred candidate will have the below noted skills, however we are willing to assist the successful candidate in developing the following skill set:

Preferred Skills:Two year degree in Electronic Engineering Technology, or equivalent educationTechnical understanding of electronic components, their limitations, and proper useTechnical ability to read and understand electrical/electronic design schematics, and PC Board artworkExperience utilizing manufacturing documents including BOM's, Assembly Instructions, and Design Verification Test proceduresExperience building and/or setting-up test equipmentAbility to collect test data, calculate results using Excel, Word, and interpreting results in report formatAbility to troubleshoot and repair PC Boards using tolls for through-hole or surface mount technologyGood PC SkillsGood Teamwork, Communication, and Organizational SkillsAbility to clearly communicate technical material orally and in writing
