Engineering/Design Manager

$66,000.00 to $90,000.00

Based on experience and performance

 

My client, a leader in the gage industry, is expanding their team at their Pasadena, Texas location. Come join this great team! The Engineering/Design Manager will be accountable to the daily production and motivation of the drafters and designers in the engineering department.

 

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:



· Coordinate efforts of the design team by actively leading and motivating daily activities.

· Produce and review detailed manufacturing drawings from concept sketches. Apply dimensioning, tolerances, notes, and object orientation in a traditional manner that can be read and understood by a machinist.

· Monitor design quality.

· Work effectively with Sales Engineers to produce drawings and concept diagrams that describe product functionality.

· Produce exploded pictorial drawings of products for assembly manuals and parts lists.

· Design concept gages relating to threads or close tolerance dimensional measurement according to customer’s requirements.

 





A successful candidate will possess:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 5 years of mechanical design experience.Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience overseeing Designers and Draftspersons Must have experience using SolidWorks software – you will create new and revise previously drawn mechanical drawings for use in the manufacturing of company product The Ability to display a high level of mechanical aptitude in conceptual design and discussion of design projects. Experience with gauging and inspection highly preferred.  Must speak and understand the English language and be able to communicate in writing.

Position # 2

Piping/Mechanical Designer

$26.00 to $33.00

Salary will commensurate with experience & education

Direct Placement

Houston/Ship Channel area

 

 

The Piping/Mechanical Designer will be responsible for all aspects related to piping and mechanical design, coordination with contractors, scheduling and quality assurance on all projects at the Houston Terminal. Areas of responsibility include repair/upgrade existing piping systems, new piping systems, docks, rail and truck racks, and all additions or changes to the terminal.

 

 

Minimum requirements include:5-10 yrs of experience as Pipe designer in a refinery, chemical plant or terminalAssociate or Bachelor Degree, Computer aided drafting highly preferred.Proficient in latest versions of AutoCAD, CadWorx 3d, PowerPoint and the knowledge & ability to effective manipulate Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel)Possess solid oral and written communication skills to professionally interact with staff, general public, engineers and contractorsUnderstanding of engineering procedures and processes both in the field and in house



New graduates and those possessing less than 5 years of piping design need not apply at this time.
