Responsible for new equipment development, procurement, installation and start-up, engineering and equipment base, as well as facility engineering. Serves as a technology leader for film extrusion and co-extrusion, slitting, converting, and surface treatment equipment. Responsibilities include complete large scale project management from equipment specification and engineering design, to installation and commissioning. Specific Responsibilities:• Identify, specify and design manufacturing equipment required to meet business needs in terms of capacity, quality, and efficiency.• While working with R&D, OEMs, and other outside sources of information, serves as a champion of technological innovation by identifying and implementing new process equipment, data acquisition systems and integrated control technologies.• Initiate and prepare capital justification and appropriation requests, manage capital equipment procurement process, work with OEMs on equipment specifications.• Working on large scale project basis, design new and modify existing equipment in order to improve process safety, product quality, reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and material yields.• Work with process engineers and production supervisors on meeting departmental goals and objectives for safety, efficiency improvements, PIP, and equipment reliability.• Serve as an EC (Engineering Changes) process coordinator for the department. • Recommend and follows up on preventive maintenance programs for all related equipment, work with maintenance manager on increasing equipment uptime and reliability. • Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices.• Understand all environmental policies and significant environmental impact of job activities in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.Skills/Requirements/Education:• Minimum of Bachelors Degree in an Engineering discipline, Masters degree preferred.• 10 or more years experience in polymer processing environment, cast film or film extrusion preferred.• Experience and proven track record of managing multi million dollar projects.• Very strong leadership skills, cross-functional team leadership experience.• Six Sigma certification highly desirable.• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal, and technical writing.• Computer skills necessary to fulfill requirements of position including CAD software.TO APPLY: For immediate consideration, please apply below.
