Engineering Supervisor

San Jose, CA - The Engineering Supervisor supervises the activities for the development, maintenance and improvement of repair processes for endoscopic equipment. Duties include introducing new products, technology, tools and equipment into the repair process. EOE M/F/D/V

* Direct continuous improvement activities of engineers in support of production, customer service and operations requirements.


* Assist engineers with utilizing engineering methodologies to research and improve processes.

 

* Hire, train, supervise, coach and discipline engineering personnel hiring on as needed basis.


* Lead or provide support to projects or events that lead to improved quality, cost reduction, reduced turnaround time (QCD), improve efficiency and a safer work environment.


* Establish and maintain engineering NPI/NRI (New Product Implementation/New Repair Implementation) schedule and coordinate it across all cross-functional departments and product managers.

 

* Ensure the expedition and proper introduction of repairs and introduce processes that ensure the timely repair, assembly and delivery of customers' scopes. Resolve process and repair issues across the shop floor.

* Compose performance measurements that are used for process and personnel improvement data collection, analysis and recommendations.


* Establish and maintain communication across departments to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction is attained.  Resolve customer complaints swiftly and effectively.

 

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

* BS degree in Industrial Engineering, or related field is required.


* A minimum of five years related engineering experience is essential.


* Must be quality oriented and possess strong statistical, analytical and decision making skills.A strong knowledge of development methodologies and problem solving skills are desirable.


* Experience in coordinating activities among departments or groups is preferred.


* Must have excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.


* Must possess a high degree of personal organization and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
