Environmental, Health & Safety Professional

L-3 communications, one of the fastest growing fortune 500 corporations in the country, is seeking an Environmental, health & Safety Professional for its Electrical Systems Division that has more than a 100 year heritage in Philadelphia

ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY PROFESSIONAL

Education: Requires undergraduate degree in Safety & Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, Environmental health or related field or professional certification.

Experience: 5 years of environmental, health and safety experience, at least three (3) of which involved direct management of environmental, health and safety programs in a manufacturing facility. Thorough knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards, as well as Federal and Pennsylvania air, water, and waste regulations required. Aerospace, manufacturing or defense industry experience in a unionized environment is a plus.

Skills and Responsibilities: We seek a roll-up your sleeves, hands-on, service-oriented individual, with the ability to deal with a wide variety of people, ranging from hourly personnel, union leaders, governmental agency representatives, to the division president. This individual must have the ability to quickly assess EH&S compliance, identify common sense solutions and effectively communicate to affected personnel. This role requires solid business acumen, with a strong emphasis on the ability to assist division personnel in solving identified issues. This position will be responsible for the development, implementation, administration and enforcement of safety-related programs and procedures. Responsibilities will also include administration of the Company’s risk management programs, to include workers’ compensation administration. This person will also be responsible for auditing the division’s compliance with local, state, federal and corporate EH&S requirements. This position requires regular contact with all employees, including senior division management. Solid computer proficiency, to include Excel, Word and MS Project are necessary for this role.
