The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Administrator is responsible and accountable for the compliance with local, state and federal regulations in environmental, health and safety for the BAE Systems locations in Jessup PA and KY. Full compliance with current and future policies will be required to ensure that work contribution is in the best interest of BAE Systems. Other duties may be assigned as required, depending upon the available time, production volume and other criteria as determined by the Director of Human Resources. Ability and willingness to travel is required. This role will functionally report to the Director of Human Resources with a day to day accountability to the Director of Operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Develops and implements safety processes and documentation as applicable to comply with OSHA and State requirements for safety and reporting - Establishes a company wide environment that promotes Safety as the top priority - Facilitates all safety related training, including new hire and annual safety training - Ensures that OSHA 300 Logs are maintained accurately, timely and to standard requirements - Coordinates development of environmental objectives and targets - Ensures facility compliance with environmental and occupational workplace laws and any other requirements the company may subscribe to in the environmental, health and safety area. Keeps management current on status of environmental compliance functions, prepares and presents reports/materials as needed - Coordinates and performs inspections and environmental and safety audits - Works closely with ISO team to track non-conformance, corrective and preventative actions related to environmental, health and safety - Supports other members of staff with specific environmental and safety responsibilities - Evaluates environmental and safety risk and recommends ways to minimize them - Completes and submits facility environmental permit applications, surveys, reports and emergency response plans - Maintains training programs required by regulations and any other training the company deems necessary - Assists Human Resources and other Management in overseeing safety committee - Develops and Maintains MSDS program - Develops and maintains emergency/medical evacuation plans - Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperation in the preparation of material and evidence for organization abuse in hearings, law suits, and insurance investigations - Maintains a professional working relationship with all Environmental & Safety Agencies, Vendors, Customers and internal/external BAE Systems personnel. Keeps current with environmental legislation and related technology.
