Scope of Position - Will include some combination of the following tasks:
1. Develop (modeling and detailing) and issue (plot and mail) concept and detail design packages  of the Fusion Draw Machine (FDM).
2. Support rebuild operations at manufacturing plants throughout the world with answers to detailed design and dimensional inquiries.
3. Update engineering drawings as required.
4. Represent the design group as our Quality liaison as required to ensure adherence to design drawings, for vendors at local machine and fabrication houses. 
5. Assist in writing equipment specifications (Scopes) and inspection documents.
6. Design and implement manufacturing aids and tooling to support the Equipment Install Teams throughout the world.
7. The above activities shall be prioritized and issued from one or more senior level engineers or technicians.

Travel Requirements:
1. Domestic travel required to Harrodsburg, KY plant, vendors and fabricators
2. Travel  10%

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
1. Work hours 40 hours / week, 5 days / week
2. Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
3. Some overtime required

Required Skills:
1. AutoCAD & Solid works 3D
2. Self-motivated to learn and an interest in growing with a rapidly expanding department.
3. Commitment to enter, and remain with the group and potentially become one of the senior design leaders.
4. Demonstrated ability to see evaluate the impact of their design ideas on all of the support functions (quality, production, production control, materials,) as well this design's relationship to the overall quality, durability and reliability of the complete system.
5. Patience in working with a diverse group of peers.
6. Professional integrity that compliments Corning's values.

Desired Skills:
1. Glass Forming equipment knowledge
2. Experience with machine design and machine components operating at elevated temperatures.
3. Experience with refractory and ceramic materials.

Soft Skills:
1. Written and Verbal Communication Skills with individuals from  diverse backgrounds.
2. Willingness to learn and patience with individuals from different cultures.
3. Forward thinking
4. Strong Organization Skills
