JOB TITLE: Equipment Maintenance Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

Gambro BCT is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Equipment Maintenance Technician. This position works under minimal supervision supporting maintenance needs of complex, automated manufacturing equipment. Occasionally mentored by more experienced technicians; maintenance activities include troubleshooting of mechanical, pneumatic and electrical systems, understanding PLC input and output as a troubleshooting aide, equipment performance improvement activities and preventative maintenance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs scheduled preventive maintenance procedures and unscheduled equipment maintenance on all equipment with a high degree of quality and reliability.

A troubleshooting resource on all equipment, relying on more experienced technicians for backup.

Continues to learn most complex equipment under the leadership of more experienced technicians.

May be required to work on other shifts and/or willing to be "on call" as needed.

Implements permanent corrective actions to eliminate recurrent problems.

Safety conscious, complying with all rules, policies and procedures.

May lead special projects.

Supports process optimization through equipment design improvements, changes to operating procedures and maintenance activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Requires high school graduate or equivalent.

Requires practical and comprehensive knowledge typically gained through 5 plus years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and automated systems. Formal technical training a plus.

Must have basic understanding of programmable logic controllers, using I/O to troubleshoot automated systems.

Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical drawings, flowcharts, and/or other drawings of a technical nature.

Demonstrated good troubleshooting skills.

Requires a progressive record of continuing and broadening knowledge and scope in maintenance techniques and new equipment technologies.

Requires good knowledge of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic systems.
