FIELD SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

 

M.C.M. Environmental Technologies, Inc., headquartered in Hackensack, New Jersey, USA, is a value added competitor in the on-site infectious medical waste disposal market. 

 

The Field Support Technician’s responsibilities include on-site installation, maintenance, and service as well as phone support and related duties when not in the field.  This position will be home-based in the Dallas, TX. area. The position may require both short notice and domestic travel other than home-based area. We are seeking a professional candidate who can assume the responsibility of interfacing with our valued customers.

 

Installation Services Provide customer support by assisting in the preparation of installation sites Uncrate and Install MCM SteriMed machines at customer's site. Conduct initial training of customers' operator and support personnel.

Maintenance Providing phone support to customers' technical personnel in diagnosing and repairing machine malfunctions Performing MCM machine repairs at customers' sites Conducting periodic audits of installation sites and MCM machines in the field Timely and accurate preparation and submission of field service reports Providing field feedback to MCM Engineering to support product enhancements

 

ProfileEducation - EE or ME Associate degree; BS preferred; Equivalent in field experience will be considered Experience in field repairs of electromechanical systems preferred Electrical schematics literacy – automation systems, 3 phase motors, AC/DC circuits, pumps, PLCs Strong ability to interface with customers, and to represent the company Effective in providing phone support Computer literacy - Word, Excel Ability to program PLCs and to use PLC ladder logic diagnostic tools and programming terminals Ability to effectively troubleshoot PLC-controlled electro-mechanical machinery using digital multi-meters (DMM), thermocouples, oscilloscopes, and computer diagnostic tools Ability to lift and manipulate moderately heavy items during mechanical assembly, uncrating, and teardown of MCM machines Capable of reading and understanding electrical, mechanical, and control system diagrams Capable of reading and understanding hydraulic schematics for low pressure water-based hydraulic systems and operate light powered tools Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
