Fabricating Supervisor

Supervises & coordinates activities of all fabricating department employees engaged in fabricating, assembling, inspecting, and related items used in manufacturing corrugated containers.

 

Analyzes work orders, schedules and other specifications to determine parts and assemblies requiring fabrication, modification, or repair and assist with equipment/product changeovers.

 

Operates within ISO procedures, Quality Policy, Safety Policy, and customer requirements.  Inspects work/processes to ensure adherence to standards and specifications.

 

Completes daily production logs and other paperwork needed to assist the Production Manager in meeting production requirements.

 

Assigns and assists in the training of new employees to qualified works or performs training in work methods and procedures.

 

Operate and troubleshoot production machinery as required.

 

Effectively communicate with all levels of production, management and outside sources critical to our processes.

 

Monitors employee adherence to company Safety Policy/PPE requirements.  Extensive standing and walking during shift.  Requires understanding of human relations and interpersonal communication.

 

Monitors employee performance and notify the Manager of substandard work and defective parts, tools, equipment, and material, or other conditions that hinder the manufacturing process.

 

Analyzes & communicates tooling needs for new customer orders during the design process.

 

Monitors and submits requisition requests for fabricating department supplies and equipment tooling.  Organizes storage for the above.

 

Organizes storage of fabricating department die cut tooling.  Maintains & updates list of tooling locations.  Plans/implements removal and purge of obsolete tooling.

 

Successful candidate must have previous corrugated experience.

 

Bachelor’s degree desired.
