Facilities / Energy Engineer II - FM Engineering - 1st Shift Internal Applicants must apply within the posting period: March 31, 2008 - April 7, 2008. Position is 1st shift. QUALIFICATIONS:·Bachelors or Masters Degree in Architectural Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.  Required· Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience. · Working knowledge of architectural and facility systems.·  Proven ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.· Experience with energy calculations and knowledge of energy conservation strategies.·  Strong organizational skills, project management skills, and attention to detail.· Demonstrated computer skills, including but not limited to MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.· Proven ability to work on teams, both as team member and as team leader.·  Ability to work long hours when necessary. Preferred·Pharmaceutical industry or GMP experience is a plus.·Experience with architecture, civil, and facilities design and/or maintenance.·High level spreadsheet skills (MS Excel). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provides Site Engineering & Maintenance support for site building systems, including roofing, interiors, building envelope, elevators, doors, plumbing systems, lighting, storm water, grounds, and others.· Supports the development of engineering standards for construction and department procedures for maintenance and operation of architectural and facility systems.  Keeps abreast of new technologies and procedures relative to buildings and energy and promotes understanding and adherence to site standards.· Performs energy savings calculations and evaluates opportunities.  Identifies, proposes, and implements energy conservation projects for the site.  Evaluates and recommends new technologies and drives risk assessments to encourage efficient operations wherever possible.· For capital and upgrade projects, supports project manager in project drawing and design reviews to ensure building code compliance, site specifications and standards are met, and that good engineering practices are followed.· Develops and supports tools to drive a lifecycle focus on investments and projects.  Drives LEED, Energy Star, and/or other formal conservation programs.  Works with EH&S to ensure existing and upcoming regulatory requirements are met relative to energy use. · Works in coordination with Manager and/or other Engineers to manage capital improvement projects, including defining requirements, estimating budgets, creating and managing project schedules, construction and contract management, and commissioning/qualification.  Also reports progress to stakeholders.· Supports the management of energy metrics for site and develops and maintains short and long term energy budget.  Provides regular reporting to stakeholders on status and developments.  Reviews energy bills and processes for payment.· Works closely with Purchasing Department to develop and maintain a robust strategy for sourcing and procuring energy (natural gas, electric); taking advantage of available benefits where appropriate.· Identifies and implements improvement opportunities to Facility Management program and systems.
