Facilities Mechanical Engineer

We are currently seeking a Facilities Electrical or Mechanical Engineer for UNICCO's customer site at Savannah, GA. eporting to the Facilities Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for engineering, designing, planning, coordinating, managing and implementing facility projects to ensure timely and cost efficient completion of corporate and departmental goals and objectives. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In a team oriented work environment, independently perform professional engineering work analyzing, evaluating, designing, coordinating, and supervising projects related to plant facilities and capital equipment.

· Execute multi-engineering discipline assignments (e.g. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering) required to evaluate, design, engineer, supervise, construct, upgrade and maintain the Gulfstream facilities. Responsible for managing major and minor capital and expense projects.

· Write technical specifications and prepare drawings and bid packages for facilities projects and capital equipment. Projects include new facilities, equipment and maintenance type projects.

· Working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local codes, regulations and standards related to design, engineering, construction, and maintenance.

· Command of a full range of computer software including but not limited to AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Projects, Microsoft Power Point and Maximo.

· Apply cost engineering practices and procedures to assure projects are developed, administrated, tracked, and completed in a manner consistent with corporate policy which results in the greatest benefit to Gulfstream.

· Total commitment to safety. Must have experience with and have the ability to apply and enforce OSHA 29 CFR Part 1926 and 29 CFR Part 1910. Full knowledge and application of Gulfstream site safety requirements is also required.

· Manage Contractors hired to perform construction and maintenance projects. Duties include all project management functions such as bidding, scheduling, cost tracking, directing general contractors and reviewing and approving payments and change requests. Responsible for managing multiple contractors simultaneously.

· Working knowledge and application of EPA regulations and requirements.

· Supervise Engineers and Architects hired on a temporary basis to supplement the permanent engineering staff.

· Create conceptual and detailed estimates for facilities projects.
