Currently we are seeking Facilities Energy Engineer for our Central Facilities Engineering.This position is located in Columbus,IN. The Central Facilities Engineering organization is committed to global support of facilities infrastructure improvements and technology, management of building utilities and energy systems and stewardship of Cummins assets.The Energy Facilities Engineering position will provide technical support in the development and implementation of energy efficiency programs and perform project management functions encompassing all phases of facilities infrastructure including mechanical, electrical, and civil aspects.The following are key tasks, qualities and attributes required for success in this role.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Energy Efficiency Project Management. Identify, analyze and recommend energy conservation measures for facility HVAC, lighting, controls, process and building envelope components. Provide support and direction in implementing efficiency improvement and Green House Gas Reduction initiatives, covering aspects of safety. financial, regulatory, performance and scheduling parameters.Energy Usage and Cost Analysis. Provide analysis on building energy utilities including electricity, fossil fuels and renewable sources. Develop load profiles, historical usage patterns by building function and system and unit costs. Provide comparisons with benchmark data and industry standards. Prepare written reports with analysis and recommendations. Assessment. Lead energy assessment process and provide direction to energy partners. Develop, document and facilitate broad communication of guidelines, recommendations and best practices for energy usage and technology deployment.Strategic Planning. Develop expert knowledge of building envelope energy usage strategies for use in strategic planning that covers local and global objectives.Tactical Support. Troubleshoot, critique and assist in maintaining existing infrastructure, with a 'hands-on' aptitude. REQUIRED SKILLS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other related field. Minimum 6 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated abilities of various computer software programs. Ability to prioritize multiple assignments. Previous experience in the design and operation of building systems including HVAC, lighting and process development and implementation of energy projects. Previous report writing, engineering project management and six years of progressively responsible experience in a similar field all a plus. Knowledge of energy-efficiency programs and emerging energy technologies desired. Registration as a Professional Engineer, Engineer-in-Training (EIT), and/or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is desired.Interested candidates please send a confidential resume for immediate consideration.
