Facilities Technician

I.  JOB SUMMARY:

 

  Perform a variety of facilities related maintenance functions at the level of a skilled mechanic. Repair, maintain and accurately document work performed on the facility, facility equipment and grounds. Assist other maintenance personnel in facilities and production maintenance as required.

 

II.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1. Responsible for all aspects of building maintenance, such as but not limited to Carpentry, Basic Electrical, Basic Masonry, Plumbing, Painting, Cleaning, Snow Removal, Grounds Upkeep and Landscaping.

2. Responsible for the facility and facility equipment preventative maintenance such as cleanings, filter changes, oil changes and lubrication.

3. Required to work with a variety of hand tools and power tools common to the activities listed above.

4. Responsible for scrap and hazardous waste handling and removal.

5. Work from drawings, blueprints, equipment manuals and maintenance schedules. 

6. Properly document all the necessary paperwork to maintain compliance with applicable standards and regulations.

7. Report improper operation, faulty equipment and unusual conditions to proper supervision.

8. Train assigned personnel on the duties and responsibilities of a Facilities Technician.

9. Maintain assigned work area in a clean and orderly condition.  Proactively maintain a safe work environment and follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.

10. Follow all applicable GMP’s, SOP’s and company policies/procedures.

11. Perform other related duties as required or directed.

 

III.  EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

 

· High School and/or technical School diploma preferred.

· Must be able to speak, read and write English.

· Must pass a Mechanical aptitude test.

· 3 years experience in a facilities / maintenance environment.

 

IV.  PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/DEMANDS:

 

1. Operate power equipment.

2. Operate fork truck, power and manual pallet trucks.

3. Stand a minimum of 8 hours per day, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

4. Must have 20/40 correctable vision and be able to distinguish colors.
