Job Title: Technician, Facilities

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD

Job Overview: You'll be part of a maintenance support team providing maintenance support for a wide range of facility systems including operating and maintaining a Government owned De-ionized (DI) water plant. Duties would include but not be limited to: maintaining a clean and safe workplace for others, assisting Project Managers and Equipment Engineers, ordering necessary consumables, arranging and escorting on-site services as scheduled, supporting all other organizations as required and assisting other Facility Technicians by responding to emergency system failures during off shifts when requested. We expect you to look for ways to improve work, products, functions, and processes through on-going analysis, change management, and to communicate and share new information, learnings, and methods with cross-functional team members to achieve our organizational goals.

Employee safety is a major concern at National Semiconductor and all employees are expected to review safety related policies and procedures, note discrepancies and bring them to the attention of their Supervisor/Manager or Safety Department for resolution.

Required Qualifications: Applicants MUST be US citizens, MUST hold (or have held within the last 24 months) an active TS/SCI clearance with lifestyle polygraph, and MUST be mechanically inclined.

Desired Job Qualifications: Basic computer skills and the ability to work in a maintenance shop or Cleanroom environment. Successful candidate will have a working knowledge of DI water systems, Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems, UV sterilizers, bag filters, carbon filters, pre RO filters, RO filters, primary resin beds, pumps and variable speed drives, DI System Sterilization, HVAC, monitoring various meters and gauges, safety audits, making rounds, monitoring equipment, monitoring temperature and humidity, and writing reports. May be required to stand for long periods of time.

Required Job Qualifications: Mechanical experience, capable of: lifting a minimum of 40 lbs, able to manipulate heavier dead weights, climb ladders and cat walks higher than 12 feet, and must be able to work 3x12 hour shifts (3 days on, 12 hours per shift -12:00 midnight to 12:00 noon) Thursday through Saturday and then 4 days on (same shift) the next week, starting Wednesday through Saturday. This shift is rewarded with a 10% pay differential and time and a half for all hours over 8 hours worked on a shift.

Education: High School diploma or GED required.
