Field Maintenance Mechanical Engineer

The Field Maintenance Engineer works with internal customers and suppliers to design and specify more efficient and effective methods and tools to support repair and maintenance and to meet EH&S requirements. The Field Maintenance Engineer is the lead service expert to promote the NSAA strategic objective to improve Standard Work Practices.

In this capacity, the Field Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the creation or redesign of 4 to 6 SWPs per year, working closely with the field, Field Engineers, Service Quality Engineers and EH&S staff. Duties include project management of SWP development, coordination of, and participation in field pilots to validate new procedures, coordination with tooling design as required, creation of drawings, editing of SWPs, ORMs and TIPs, development of training materials and setting up parts in SDC and Pegasus.

In addition to SWP responsibility, the Field Maintenance Engineer is responsible for identifying, and deploying commercially available tools, initiatives and parts that will reduce maintenance costs and/or improve service safety. The position includes responsibility for the maintenance and revision of the Methods and Tools catalog.

BS in mechanical engineering

Strong written communication ability; 30% travel

Grade will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
