Job Description Field Service Engineer - Elemental / Molecular Instruments The individual filling this position will be responsible for installations, training, telephone and on-site diagnostics and repair services as well as preventative maintenance visits to Thermo Fisher Scientific's customers. The successful candidate must have proven ability to diagnose and resolve problems on sophisticated electronic, mechanical and optical instrumentation in a commercial scientific laboratory environment. Applicants must have the ability to work independently and have effective communication skills. Experience in the selling process would be helpful. We require a minimum of an associate degree in Electronics or Chemistry and at least 2 years related experience. In addition, this position requires experience troubleshooting, installing, and servicing scientific instruments; experience as a field service engineer or chemist working on ICP-MS instrumentation.  This position requires extensive customer interaction; therefore strong interpersonal skills are essential. Travel in order to meet customer needs is required; the position will be home-based in the Bay area. Education: AssociateJob Level: Experienced
