Field Service Engineer
Position Summary
Install, troubleshoot and/or service product lines. Train customers on the operation and application of products. Identify problem areas and work with design team to re-design applications for the customer.
Essential Functions
· Inspect products, identifying customer problems and issues. Advise customer of findings.
· Repair machinery or processes, restoring equipment to appropriate operating conditions.
· Interface with quality, design engineering and/or manufacturing departments on issues related to customer problems and repairs. Follow up with customers to insure products operating efficiently and correctly.
· Prepare appropriate paperwork concerning troubleshooting equipment, following ISO procedures if applicable.
· Identify customer training issues, create appropriate training modules and implement training at customer site. May also train distributors and other field reps.
· Explain warranty programs to customers, soliciting their participation.
· May supervise Field Service Techs and/or Field Service Engineers, coordinating troubleshooting issues with design engineering. Has input to corrective actions, performance reviews and merit increases.
Candidate Qualifications
· BS ME or BS ChemE, plus 5 or more years, technical sales or applications engineering experience
· Self-starter, quick learner, results-oriented
· Demonstrated ability to develop and cultivate effective work relationships in a team environment with all levels of employees, including senior management
· Project leadership skills from concept through implementation supporting cross-functional business needs
· Capacity to manage multiple priorities and achieve quality results
· Strong analytical/problem solving skills
· Effective communication skills -- oral, written, and presentation
· Available to travel 25% and work on projects off-site
