Job Description Field Service Engineer - Nashville, TN The individual filling this position will be responsible for installations, training, telephone and on-site diagnostics and repair services as well as preventative maintenance visits primarily to Thermo Fisher Scientific's customers located in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama and the Carolinas as well as occasional national travel. The successful candidate must have proven ability to diagnose and resolve problems on sophisticated LC/MS instruments in a commercial scientific laboratory environment. Applicants must have the ability to work independently and have effective communication skills. Experience in the selling process would be helpful. We require a minimum of an associate degree in Electronics or Chemistry and at least 2 years related experience. In addition, this position requires experience troubleshooting, installing, and servicing scientific instruments; experience as a field service engineer or chemist working on LC/MS, HPLC, Mass spectrometers and other scientific instrumentation is desirable.  This position requires extensive customer interaction; therefore strong interpersonal skills are essential.
