Field Service Representative - Portland Oregon

Currently we have an opening for a Field Service Representative to be based in the Portland, Oregon area.

This position will perform general field service repair and maintenance activities required to support Markem-Imaje customers and the installed machine base. Additionally, this position will contribute to business growth and sustainment through technical involvement, influence and teamwork.

Duties include, but are not limited to, new installations, customer training, emergency and routine repair, contract sales and maintenance and any other related activities as directed by management.

This position will be assigned to a divisional service territorry, with a primary customer list, which will be considered the primary area of responsibility.

Collaboration and teamwork with sales members to assist with machine demos, installations, technical training, courtesy calls, customer communication and follow up activities are an essential part of the responsibility.

Additionally, this individual will be required to carry a company supplied cell phone at all times during normal working hours and respond appropriately according to the urgency and nature of the call. Cell phones should be on and monitored after normal working hours (after 5PM and weekends) and respond to calls as needed.

This position will require extensive travel, with little advance notice, within the assigned service territory; overnite travel, extended stays and the ability to work overtime will be required: as well as travel outside of the assigned territory to other parts of the United States. There will be exposure to hazardous materials including Markem-Imaje ink solvents as well as the potential for extreme temperature and diverse environment conditions at the customer work site.

A Technical Associates Degree or equivalent work experience is required; mission critical related field service experience is a plus.
