Position description

Field Service Technician responsibilities include quality repairs, inspections, maintenance and repairs of rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors, refrigerated and dessiccant air dryers, vacuum pumps and similiar compressed air equipment. Breakdown service will require troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components and controls. Majority of repairs will be performed at our customers facilities.

 

Primary tasks and responsibilities

Inspection and troubleshooting of industrial compressed air systems. Diagnoses and repair of of compressed air and drying equipment Perform preventative maintenance activities on all related equipment. Troubleshoot and repair supporting electrical equipment (ex. compressor electrical controls, circuitry, etc) Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed. Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs. Provide a high level of communication with both customer and office.

 

Skills and required knowledge/experienceQualified and experienced Mechanical and electrical skills Minimum of 2-4 years work experience with similiar types of rotating and/or electrical equipment in the manufacturing or field service environment. Honest and dedication to customer satisfaction Reliable and dependable Willingness to learn and take on new challanges Good driving record Refrigeration experience not required but a plus Candidates must have their own set of standard tools.

Work Environment considerationsOvertime is sometimes required (time and 1/2 and double time pay provided) Work is performed in many different environments. Field service technicians at times, are on call for emergency service. (Approximately once every six weeks - time and 1/2 and double time pay provided)
