Financial Analyst III, IV

Position Summary:  Support assigned business unit through performance of accounting functions such as month-end closing, reporting, analysis of operations and other financial analysis process-related activities.

Job Responsibilities: 
1. Month-end closing includes: calculating accrual/reserve balances and discussing calculations with management for subjective nature accounts to arrive at decision; analyzing general ledger account data for accuracy and adjusting accounts if necessary; booking various other journal entries and statistical key figures
2. Reporting: prepare reports daily, weekly and monthly which may include but not be limited to sales, inventory, production, raw material purchasing and cost of quality
3. Analysis: Review variance account posting for accuracy throughout the month, assist with correcting system transactions. Review detail of accounts and follow-up on month-end closing items when necessary.  Review account reconciliations on a monthly basis and main a log of sign-offs for Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
4. Work with external auditors quarterly and at year-end; includes providing audit work papers as well as requested supporting documentation, walk auditors through calculations and provide data for various other detail testing on warranty, title transfers, price testing and inventory cut-offs
5. Quarterly forecasts and AOP including Sales Organization roll-ups for Sales, COS and units as well as rebates, warranty, and product liability
6.  Rebate accounting and analysis:  Monthly, calculate accrual for domestic customers and provide analysis including customer analysis
7.  Price/Volume/Mix analysis for the Engine Group including comparisons to prior year, prior month, and to forecast
8.  Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

Job Skills Requirements: 
· Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
· Analytical skills necessary to review/analyze accounting and financial data, substantiate financial statement balances and prepare financial statement account reconciliation
· Ability to identify, measure, evaluate & improve, if necessary, the effectiveness of accounting, financial, managerial and operational controls
· Excellent verbal & written communication & interpersonal skills to interact with a diverse group of people in a team environment
· Good customer service skills with the ability to interface with all levels
· Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office; specifically advance knowledge of and experience working with Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet programs and experience w/ query tools
· Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects with a strong attention to accuracy and detail
· Sound working knowledge of SAP


Education Requirements:
· Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
· CPA or CMA desired


Experience Requirements:
· Minimum of 4 years public accounting experience or 4 years industry experience or combination thereof
· SAP experience desirable
