Final assembly is conducted at EMD's state-of-the-art plant at London, Ontario, from which EMD products are exported to customers around the world.EMD is also a global provider of aftermarket parts and services, as well as diesel power engines for marine propulsion, offshore and land based oil well drilling rigs, and stationary power generationJoin the Management Accounting team of a rapidly growing, successful $1.7 Billion global heavy equipment maufacturer in this key Cost Analyst role.The key elements of this position will be the following:The Financial Cost Analysts will report to the Controller for Management Accounting. They will support the organization with cost analytics, gross margin analysis, inventory analysis, variance analysis, and budget/forecast consolidations.Key job elements include:1. Plan, collect, analyze, and present data to determine the costs of materials, activities, products, and services relating to manufacturing operations.2. Analyze and forecast manufacturing efficiencies and recommend improvements.3. Apply standard and actual costs to new and existing products and manufacturing methods.4. Identify and analyze manufacturing variances.5. Analyze changes in product design, materials, methods, and services.6. Project changes in cost, update cost estimates, and compare actual costs to forecast, budget, and previous estimates.7. Prepare reports and present results to manufacturing operations personnel.Candidate Qualifications:Required:· Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration. Minimum of 7 years experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment. Experience with large ERP system (strongly prefer SAP). Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) Access helpful· High level of analytical ability· Ability to work in a team environment· Good oral and written communication skillsPreferred:· Knowledge of SAP – particularly FI and CO modules· Knowledge of accounting theory and practice; US GAAP· Ability to interpret accounting principles· Knowledge of MS Access · Certification in accounting (CPA, CMA)We are proud to be an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V.
