Financial Director

NewPage™ Corporation is seeking a FINANCIAL DIRECTOR for the Rumford, Maine location.  NewPage operates 12 paper mills with 26 paper machines located in Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Nova Scotia, Canada.  These mills have a total annual production capacity of approximately 5.5 million tons of paper, which includes 4.3 million tons of coated paper, 920,000 tons of uncoated paper, 300,000 tons of specialty paper, as well as 3.2 million tons of pulp.  NewPage is now the largest manufacturer of coated paper in North America, based on capacity. SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

This position is responsible for ensuring SOX compliance and GAAP are followed in addition to providing management reporting, financial planning, forecasting and analysis for the Rumford, Maine location.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Provide operational and financial information and analysis to guide location and corporate management in effective decision making.Manage the planning and forecasting process for the location.Product costing and analysisEnsure the proper protection of assets through procedures which are consistent with corporate policies and/or other legal requirements.Ensure SOX complianceEnsure GAAP are followedReview and monitor location capital spending including returns calculationsLead, coach, and develop financial teamAssist with grade rationalization, mix improvement, and supply/demand balancing for the corporation.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

·  Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting preferred, with CPA, CMA or MBA a plus

·  Experience should include supervisory responsibilities in financial analysis, and/or general accounting/cost accounting

·  7-10 years of solid working knowledge of financial and operations analysis in a manufacturing environment

·  Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Excel

·  SAP experience a plus
