Looking for a business-minded leader with strong financial analysis, presentation, forecasting, planning, & reporting skills with excellent communication & problem-solving skills. Needs to be an energetic proactive manager who can interpret & summarize complex data into meaningful financial reports & provide recommendations to management to strengthen & improve the profitability & financial position of the company.
Support and work very closely with the V.P. of Finance to provide robust financial analysis, planning critical improvements to achieve operational and financial objectives. Consolidate & analyze the financial performance of the Americas-Commercial business unit. The annual revenue for the business is $1,300M+. Critical contributor to the Commercial VP Finance/business unit controller. Daily interfacing with the Channel, Project, General Accounting, Operations & Plant finance personnel, will have extensive exposure/interaction with executive business unit leadership.
• Analyzes budgets/forecasts & provide recommendations to management to drive business results/achieve plant financial goals. Analyze trends/take appropriate corrective actions.
• Assist in planning, developing and execution of Annual Operating Plan financial objectives, investment and capital plans. Inputs AOP into financial planning system. Perform robust analysis of detail to produce a challenging & attainable business plan to drive results for the business unit.
• Consolidates Long Range Planning financial statements & supporting schedules into financial planning systems & corporate-required reporting formats to perform analysis of details to ensure compliance with strategic goals/objectives.
• Participate in monthly performance review calls with Sector mgmt and provide post-analysis results/analysis based on information communicated in those calls.
• Ensures the accurate appraisal, interpretation, analysis of financial results, while also providing analyses, interpretation, justification of budgets, forecasts, long range plans.
• Prepares monthly/quarterly/annual forecasting reports/analysis with a goal of forecast accuracy of 90%+ for revenue, operating income, operating cash flow.
• Submits required financial reports/forecasts with Sector/Corporate deadlines/requirements.
• Lead corporate management reporting preparation/analysis for the Monthly Operating Review & Quarterly Operating Review & business reviews for the Annual Operating & Long Range Plans.
Project Management and Process Improvement
• Assimilates, evaluates, and correlates associated risk/benefit trade-offs of project proposals and subsequent tracking and reporting to ensure achievement of planned return on investment.
• Perform business unit supplemental reporting preparation and communication for special projects and initiatives including projects related to capital investment, restructuring, acquisitions, etc.
• Process/Continuous Improvement: Drive and continually improve upon processes for consolidation and reporting the financial performance of the business unit.
Financial Leadership and Communication
• Ability to effectively collaborate across the organization and positively influence business outcomes. Effectively communicate with business leaders across all functional disciplines. Partner with leadership to drive the translation of strategic goals into actionable/measurable business plans.
• Monthly communication of financial results and budget variances to local business management and staff. Prepare detailed financial analysis of the P&L, Balance Sheet, core spending, inflation, and Operating Cash Flow and work with owners to develop recommendations and plans to initiate actions to improve results
• Share and/or implement best practices with other IR locations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Strong leadership, presentation skills, financial analysis, and ability to explain and communicate financial results to business leaders in an understandable and actionable format for decision-making purposes.
• Strong computer and financial analysis skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree with a finance, accounting, economics or other business related major. MBA a plus. Candidates should have 3-5 years of work experience within an accounting or finance department at a manufacturing company. A firm understanding of financial statements and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required. Cost accounting and financial analysis experience desired. Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills required with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Strong Excel, PowerPoint skill and experience with reporting tools such Khalix, Hyperion, FRx, or other financial consolidation tools.
