Gas Marketing Accountant Summary

Reporting to the Group Lead, Marketing Accounting, the position will be responsible for accounting functions related to Natural Gas Marketing activity including invoicing, supplier settlement, accounts receivable tracking, inter-company settlements, account reconciliation and supporting the Gas Marketing group effort. The Gas Marketing Accountant will support the marketing business unit accounting function.


Gas Marketing Accountant Duties and ResponsibilitiesWork with other business unit accountants in fulfilling the following duties: Create invoices to customers, accounts receivable monitoring and collections. Process Net outs and coordinate with external counterparts on settlement. Actualize marketing activity from production and pipeline reports. Process revenue settlement with counter-parties. Track, reconcile and settle inter-company transactions. Ensure the accounts are complete and accurate for A/P, A/R & cash for each month end close. Provide backup capabilities for the marketing business unit.

Skills & RequirementsMust have at least 3 years of gas marketing & JIB accounting experienceMust have SAP Software knowledgeMust have intermediate to advanced Excel experienceMust have good attention to details, but be able to manage multiple, complex tasksMust be able to deal easily with pressure, be a critical thinker, with excellent analytical abilities

QualificationsMinimum 4 years of general accounting experience preferredMinimum 1-2 years of experience in the oil and gas industry specifically in the area of natural gas marketing preferredHighly organized with strong interpersonal and communication skillsKnowledge of the Allegro Gas Management System and the JD Edwards Financial Software an assetTeam player, with a collaborative mindset
