Position Summary:

This position will focus on developing and implementing an audit system to ensure that all global sites (not just domestic ones) that manufacture our products and materials are capable of delivering products that meet our quality and safety standards. These global sites include our plants, our suppliers, and our copackers. The audit system must provide a facility with the tools it needs so that it can self-audit to sustain its performance. The audit system must also be customizable to the needs of the facility. The person in this role will need to audit a facility, provide an assessment of capability, identify gaps, and work with project teams and functional partners to address gaps. This work will ultimately result in a facility that can self-sustain its performance. This person needs to have knowledge of GMP’s, Sanitation, Pest Control, Food Safety and HACCP Systems, FDA requirements, OSHA requirements, Quality Systems, Training, Operations, Personnel Practices and applicable regulations. This person must be capable of serving as a single auditor in conducting audits currently done by a team of cross-functional experts – R&D, Quality, Procurement, and /or Engineering. While this person must be a skilled auditor, a key role will also be to provide the leadership to develop the centralized audit system that will be adopted across global facilities and customized depending on the needs of the facility. This role will also be responsible for serving as a support resource to meet general quality assurance needs across the business by driving improvement initiatives, building processes and systems, as well as improving the capability of the broader organization.

Key Responsibilities:

•Develop audit process so that facilities can self sustain
•Audit manufacturing sites
•Provide general quality support

Minimum Years and Type of Experience Required:
•12+ years in technical area - Manufacturing operations, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and/or R&D
•Demonstrated experience auditing manufacturing sites, development of auditing tools

Required Skills and Abilities:

•Strong independent leadership – will be required to travel independently to worldwide sites to conduct/lead audits
•Professional auditor certification
•Quality tools and processes – including SPC and six sigma preferred
•Problem solving / issue resolution / root-cause analysis
•Strong communication / interpersonal skills
•Computer skills
•Travel approx 50% of time

Minimum Education Level/ Degree::

•Bachelor of Science degree
