Global Commodity Manager

Global Commodity Manager focuses on optimizing the companies supply chain to deliver solutions with qualitative and quantifiable results through new strategies, process, and technology. Global Commodity Manager is responsible for best practice methodologies and solutions to optimize the global supply chain through strategic planning and analysis as opposed to tactical, daily purchasing functions.

Job Functions:

1. Develop a strategic sourcing strategy, including analyzing existing processes, and determining functional business improvements.

2. Lead negotiations with supply base to attain supply agreements that ensure on time delivery of quality product at the lowest total cost.

3. Locate, analyze and develop supply base options to meet current and future business needs.

4. Develop and lead cross-functional teams to assess company-wide needs to select and evaluate suppliers.

5. Develop and implement supplier performance measurements related to on-time delivery, lead-time and cycle-time reduction, quality improvement and total cost reductions.

6. Communicate, and facilitate process change training sessions within the purchasing functions of each division throughout the organization.

7. Develop and implement solutions to address the business objectives and priorities as they relate to supply chain management strategy.

8. Develop working knowledge of business financials and establish key business performance indicators to monitor success and improvements.

9. Develop and drive on-going cost reduction strategies through identification of opportunity improvements in relation to software configuration and business process issues.

10. Performs other duties and assumes accountabilities as apparent or as delegated, including mutually agreed upon objectives.

Education and Experience:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field is required. Five (5) to seven (7) years work related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
2. Ability to lead and drive results is required.
3. Demonstrated planning and organizing skills are required.
4. Excellent written, persuasion and verbal communication skills are required.
5. Ability to maintain focus on goals in a changing environment is required.
6. Capability to facilitate, implement and sustain organizational change is required.
7. Ability to work successfully in a cross-functional environment is required.
8. Ability to work processes and/or issues at all levels of the organization is required.
9. Must be analytical in nature, focusing on data to support decision-making and performance metrics to measure progress/success.
10. Demonstrated problem solver with ability to quickly develop unique/creative solutions.

Special Position Requirements:
Up to 25% travel may be required - both domestic and international.
