Job Description
Mid-sized manufacturing company east of Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an HR Administrator/Payroll Specialist. This position reports directly to the CFO. Plans, directs, implements and administers employee benefit programs such as health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, workers compensation, and other plans.
Analyzes employee benefit data and evaluates services, coverage, and options available through insurance companies to determine programs best meeting the needs of the corporation.
Work closely with management in resolving and coaching on employee performance or disciplinary issues and employee complaints. Update employee job descriptions as necessary.
Attract, develop, and retain extraordinary talent. Conduct recruitment effort for all exempt and non exempt personnel, conduct new-employee orientations and safety training. Perform exit interviewing.
Develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain handbook on policies and procedures; perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness.
Maintain records, reports, and logs to conform to OSHA, all state and federal regulations.
Participate in Company Safety Committee meetings. Develop safety communication and training materials.
Coordinate corporate-wide projects to meet the vision of continuous improvement and to create consistent procedures throughout company.
Process multi-company payrolls.
Assist the accounting department with journal entry generation, account analyses, etc.
Required Skills Four-year degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting or related discipline.A/P, A/R, and G/L experience is strongly preferred! Knowledge of wage and labor laws, and 3-5 years of HR and payroll experience is required. Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.Superior verbal and written communication skillsLocal candidates only – no relocation provided.
