HR Manager
The Human Resource Manager position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for all Human Resource activities for the TEREX Utilities Watertown, SD site. • Plan, coordinate, perform, and participate in day-to-day Human Resources Management activities for Terex Utilities Team Members for a large Manufacturing facility including small facilities within a close geographical area. Assure that Team Members receive timely response to inquiries, answer questions, and receive access to all human resources services. • Administer a full range of Human Resource programs such as designed to ensure Team Members against loss of income due to illness, injury, layoff, or retirement. • Provide advice and service to Leadership on matters such as organization and job design and team building. • Participate with Leadership in developing short and long range staffing plans based on and related to level of activity and type of products. • Establish regular communications about company-wide human resources programs through periodic orientations for work teams, written communications, and newsletters • Facilitate recruitment and selection activities for certain key openings. Coordinate and participate in review assessment and interviewing of applicants • Facilitate identification of Team Members eligible for professional development and promotion. Works with Leadership to provide growth opportunities for high potential Team Members. (Succession Planning) • Communicate salary and benefit programs to Team Members. Collects, analyzes, and prepares job information for purposes of determining salary placement. Ensures that Team Members get timely service on benefits matters. • Communicate, orient, and enforce personnel policies. Investigate incidents, conferring with Leadership and Team Members, and recommending actions. • Serve as advisor to Leadership and Team Members alike, on matters such as performance management, skill development, general morale, and other employee relations matters. • Develop curriculum and training materials on topics such as communications, leadership, motivation, behavior, and diversity. Facilitates management training on a regular basis. • Coordinate and participate in programs such as employee assistance, employee health, and workers compensation. • Manage corporate HR projects and/or functions as assigned (i.e. unemployment claims, Worker's Compensation/Medical Services, recognition, as well as improvement projects). • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position Education: • Bachelors Degree, and 5 + years HR experience. (Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.) • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred • Proven ability to influence and interact effectively with business leaders Training: • Appropriate federal and state regulations such as EEOC, Title VII laws • Building programs that support good employee relations.
