IT Business Partner, QA/R&D

Job Summary –This position is responsible for establishing a partnership and providing IT project leadership and support functions for an operational business unit. As part of the partnership, this position may physically reside with the business function in order to gain a full understanding of their operations and IT support requirements, and become an effective team member of that unit. Will also be responsible for managing an IT staff of business analysts and or programmers that will be part of a dedicated IT support group for the business unit. Some of the related activities for this position and staff would be; system usage and associated changes to support new business initiatives, new system evaluation and integration strategies with existing systems, coordinate user group functions to determine development needs and priorities, programming/development, coordination of vendor supplied system updates, and project lead roles for new system implementations.General Functions:§ Full participation in business unit activities, (staff meetings, budget process, strategic planning process, etc…). § Performance management of staff.§ Proactively evaluates and recommends new technologies that could provide operational efficiencies or competitive advantages.§ Assist in building and presenting business case analysis for new technologies.§ Prioritization of staff development projects and support responsibilities.§ Management of departmental budget, staff educational/development plans, and establishing/maintaining positive customer relationships.Expected Areas of Competence:§ Demonstrated project management skills associated with development and support of business applications, (identifying tasks, allocating resources, developing project timelines, managing project budget, communication of project status).§ Assumes a broad view and accepts accountability that supports the project within area of responsibility, ability to achieve objectives and work through obstacles.§ Ability to lead a team, and promote team effectiveness through strong organizational skills, handles increasing levels of responsibility. § Excellent communication, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills necessary to interact with a wide range of individuals.§ Ability to build relationships with other areas of the organization.§ Takes broad business perspective when making decisions.§ In depth knowledge of business functions.Leadership Behaviors:§ Delivers results, drives for continuous improvement.
