IT HELP DESK TECH

Handi-Foil, the industry leader in the manufacture, sale, marketing and distribution of disposable aluminum bakeware has an immediate opening for an IT Help Desk Technician at our facility in Wheeling, IL.  This privately held company has been in business for over twenty years and is experiencing strong growth year after year.

OVERVIEW 

We are currently seeking an IT Help Desk Technician.  This incumbent will be a customer-oriented individual to provide in-house technical support to our end users, including setting up and troubleshooting PCs, peripherals and related software.  Incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting Company’s printers and print network.  Will monitor and respond to Help Desk requests by assessing issues and solving or elevating to other IT associates.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES

Resolve help desk calls and Track IT help tickets in accordance with Service Level Agreement and Standard Operating Procedures.  Troubleshoot all hardware, software, and network connectivity problems.  Create new users in Active Directory when assigned by area manager.  Specializes in specific areas of technology for troubleshooting and escalation.  Prioritizes tasks and functions based on urgency and guidelines in department policies and procedures.  Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and ensures that all requests are tracked via the ticket system and information is complete.  Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

1.  HS Degree/GED; Bachelors preferred. 

2.  A+ (CompTIA) and MCP(Pro and/or XP Pro) certifications required.  3+ years comprehensive knowledge of Windows 2003 OS and active directory. 

3.  Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office applications and troubleshooting. 

4.  Interact with internal customers and peers in a helpful and professional manner. 

5.  Flexible schedule for after hours maintenance, if needed. 

6.  Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects with competing interests for time.

7.  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.



Prior experience with PC and peripheral device troubleshooting, software installation, hardware/software upgrades, basic networking principles, Windows, MS Office required.  Excellent communication and customer service skills is a must.
