Position Title: Help Desk/Desktop Support                            

Reports to: I.T. Manager

Status: Full Time   

Location:  Elverson, PA

We make the largest, most complete line of fluoropolymer coatings in the world.  Whitford's line of products is specially designed for Cookware, Bakeware, Small Appliances, Automotive, Textiles, Conductive, Reprographics, and other industrial applications.  



We have an immediate need for a, IT Help Desk for our corporate headquarters in Elverson, PA.

Description:  Reporting to the I.T. Manager, the position is responsible for providing phone and desktop systems support to end users.

Primary functions and responsibilities:

·          Provide first-level on-site and/or remote technical support to end users for multiple enterprise applications to include email, calendar, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and Internet browsers as well as department-specific specialized applications.

·          Provide support for mobile users who work at home, travel, or work from a remote office (using remote console software such as Live Meeting).

·          Troubleshoot various Microsoft Windows XP/Office 2003-based computers, devices and peripherals, networks and local printers, connectivity, and email issues (Outlook 2003 & 2007).

·          Image, build, and configure laptops and desktops using Norton Ghost.

·          Troubleshoot remote connectivity issues associated with VPN, PPTP, RAS, Broadband, and wireless.

·          Open, close, and keep accurate records of all trouble ticket causes and resolutions.

·          Perform hardware/software tracking and asset management.

·          Provide timely and responsive quality customer service and support at all times.

·          Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Position requirements include the following:


·       Prefer 2-3 years of IT experience working in or supporting a call center or help desk environment.

·       Knowledge and experience supporting Windows XP platforms.

·       Knowledge and experience supporting the MS Office 2003 Suite, MS Outlook, Internet Explorer,        and Adobe Acrobat.

·       Hardware knowledge of Dell and IBM laptops and desktops.

·      Palm/Blackberry and PDA support experience.

·       Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) as well as focus and attention to detail.

·       Ability to provide courteous, enthusiastic, and dedicated support to users.
