IT Support Internship

Gensco has an internship opportunity for an Information Technology Support Specialist to join the IT team in Tacoma. This position will be part-time, with the potential to be full-time during the summer months. A great opportunity!
This position assists with the support and operation of the central business computer “accuterm” system and performs information activities for computer systems other than the central business computer “accuterm” system, including:
o The acquisition, operation and application of personal computers,
o The acquisition, operation and application of printers and peripherals,
o The acquisition and replenishment of Gensco paper forms and envelope supplies,
o The acquisition, setup, maintenance and operation of local area networks (LAN’s) - both wired and wireless.
o The acquisition, setup, operation, maintenance and application of computer servers,
o The acquisition, operation, maintenance and application of 3rd party systems that support the central business system such as document imaging and file retention systems, and
o The setup, maintenance and operation of Gensco’s Internet and Intranet functionality.
Education/Experience/Skills:
· Pursing technical certification or degree in a two or four year college program in information technology or related studies
· Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment
· Customer service-oriented approach, responds to requests with a sense of urgency
· Proactive, self-motivated, able to recognize issues and resolve or escalate appropriately
· Willing to “think out of the box” and identify process improvement opportunities
· High degree of honesty, ethics and integrity with prior work experience handling confidential information
· Able to operate personal computer, calculator, other office machines and proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Able to work independently and as a member of a team
· Able to work sitting or standing and to move freely throughout the facility
· Able to lift up to 60 pounds and carry equipment and supplies on a frequent basis
