Indirect Category Manager

 

Nilfisk-Advance, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of professional cleaning equipment, has a newly created position available for an energetic, results orientated individual, who thrives in a fast paced environment. In this role, you will be responsible for proactively managing the indirect spend throughout North America to achieve a significant total cost reduction for the Company. Will execute complex sourcing projects and other strategic and tactical activities as assigned and act as Company’s key Procurement interface with individual suppliers and our subject matter experts in each indirect product and service category.

·  Performs spend analysis and develops overall category sourcing strategies for key indirect purchased products and services. Identifies priorities for market quoting and coordinates plan with corporate team in Denmark to optimize use of resources.

·  Prepares requests for proposals, solicits quotations, evaluates bids, negotiates pricing and negotiates terms with suppliers in support of company objectives.

·  Leads cross functional teams to select suppliers that meet company and stakeholder objectives. Implements metrics to monitor on-going performance.

·  Evaluates supplier performance in cost, quality, and service level against documented requirements. Leads annual report card review with key suppliers and assists in major problem resolution as required.

·  Supports continuous improvement of procurement processes and assures that new processes are applied as appropriate with the indirect spend.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

·  BS/BA in Supply Chain Mgmt, Business, Marketing or related field of study.

·  Requires 3-5 years of related procurement experience with indirect products and services in a multi-site manufacturing company. Additional experience in other related disciplines such as Finance, Operations or Marketing would be a plus.

·  Demonstrated knowledge of sound procurement practices and supplier management, especially as applied to indirect purchased products and services.

·  Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple projects.

·  Excellent oral and written communication skills.

·  Able to interact with all functional areas and all organizational levels.

·  Able to represent the company to suppliers at all levels of management.

·  Able to manage internal and external supplier relationships.

·  Must be able to analyze problems and develop improvement plans.

·  Ability to document and communicate sourcing plans via written commodity strategies.

·  Requires some travel, including limited international travel.
