Inkjet Product Technician

SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Ink Jet R&D Manager, assists with various projects including new product development. Documents project and/or test results.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Assists in product testing and evaluation of ink jet cartridges in a laboratory environment.
•Assists in developing and releasing new products and for troubleshooting existing designs.
•Maintains files of established standards and specifications.
•Maintains test equipment in a serviceable, calibrated state.
•Conducts analysis and troubleshooting / diagnostic procedures.
•Prepares reports and recommendations on projects assigned.
•May be responsible for project design and management.

QUALIFICATIONS

•Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Preferred major in Mechanical Engineering or related curriculum.
•Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
•Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages and averages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
•Knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.
•Must be able to effectively communicate with managers, supervisors, and operators.
•ASQC certification helpful.
