 Role Summary

This position is responsible for partnering with internal and external customer channels to process orders and provide quotes, light engineering and technical support, inventory management, occasional offsite portfolio management, and outside purchase coordination. This role must provide quick responses to customer inquiries and ensure accurate, on-time shipments.  ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of assigned accounts and perform activities as above relating to orders generated by customers.Deliver complete, buildable orders to plants in an accurate and timely manner.Manage customer communications through issue resolution,  quick responsiveness, and proactive status updates.Resolve special customer requests such as order and quote revisions, material/product substitutions, and special shipping requests.Monitor and track the status of outstanding orders, quotes, and reservations. Provide time-sensitive material quotes consistent with an understanding of the theory of constraints.Support customers and distributor engineering by answering some light technical and engineering questions.Assess and manage inventory needs, including accounts of on-hand material, processing weekly stock orders, and communicating any special changes to scheduling and manufacturing. Identify and assist in implementing process improvements to enhance service to customers.

 

Qualifying Criteria

We require:High school diploma Considerable customer service experiencePersonal computer softwareGood understanding of manufacturing processes

We prefer:College degree a plusSignificant Interlake product knowledge

 

Willingness to relocate to and commute to Naperville, IL without company assistance is required. You must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than your current employer.
