ABOUT THE JOB

Highly motivated, results oriented individual to assist Production Manager in directing and coordinating the activities of the Inspection Department to meet production schedules within productivity, quality and safety standards. Work within a framework of practices and precedents and establish priorities and schedules within the framework of agreed upon production plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Directs subordinates to complete assignments using established guidelines, procedures and policies.

Successfully manages team. Excellent people management skills including delegation, giving feedback, promoting teamwork and performance management.

Working knowledge of inspection methods, procedures and techniques.

Ability to meet aggressive deadlines and juggle multiple priorities.

Strong multitasking skills.

Demonstrates strong work ethic. Uses time productively to accomplish challenging work goals. Develops efficient work methods.

Understands the job, its duties and its role in the organization.

Demonstrates flexibility by adjusting readily to changing priorities.

Ability to effectively handle escalating and time critical issues. Meets goals despite unexpected setbacks, obstacles or time constraints.

Highly productive with minimal guidance or supervision.

Knows how to use inspection equipment controls and instrumentation.

Makes effective use of database, spreadsheet and word-processing software to prepare statistical and written reports for management.

Maintains a safe work environment.

Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, vendors and customers as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or GED required.   Some college course work preferred.

3 to 5 years relevant experiencing in manufacturing environment.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Proficiency in English. Spanish bilingual a plus but not required.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Good basic mathematical aptitude required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 10 to 15 employees over multiple production lines. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
