For more information, go to www.searay.com SUMMARY The Interior Engineering Designer shall be responsible for assisting Platform Teams and Core Engineering in the construction, detail and feasibility of Interior 3D Solid CAD models during the Concept and Development phase of the programs.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.' Maintain existing computer model to "as built" to ensure the accuracy of engineering where necessary to facilitate the development of documentation and engineering analysis (e.g. Weight, Structural).' Develop the interior arrangement drawings that specify type, size and location of all cabinets and confirm adequate spacing for appliances. ' Assist in the development of the interior construction plan, and confirm interior joiner, assembly details, trim selection, and mechanical fastening methods are accurate and consistent. ' Assist in the selection of materials and provide details to purchasing, engineering and suppliers. ' Work closely with the Styling Department during the Concept Selection and Concept Refinement Phase I part of the program and develop early feasibility and packaging studies.' Monitor the program customer Function Requirements Document (FRD) and Program Parts Worksheet (PPW) to ensure the concept evolves to meet requirements such as; storage, headroom, content, weight, and cost.' Comply with and create Sea Ray Interior Design CAD and Engineering standards.' Work towards developing standard cabinet sizes and template models to enable quick arrangement scenarios and assessments.' Work closely with the manufacturing facilities to coordinate and understand machine capabilities and strategies.' Must follow proper procedures in the safe handling of hazardous wastes, which may be generated during the manufacturing process EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCECollege level course work in technical area or equivalent experience required. Applicable Associates degree or Technical certificate required. A minimum of 5 years of 3D ComputerAided Design preferred (Unigraphics required). A minimum of 5 years of Product Developmentor Manufacturing experience/knowledge preferred. Boating experience is desired. OTHER REQUIREMENTSSuccessful completion of a Skills Assessment Test will be required prior to moving to the next level. Must be highly motivated, well organized, and an excellent problem solver,motivator, and decision-maker. Well-developed communication skills. PC proficiencywith demonstrated knowledge of MS Office software, groupware programs and webbased applications. Willing to work more than 40 hours per week as necessary to thecomplete the job.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS NMMA Certification preferredWORKING CONDITIONSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, see, sit, and use arms, hands and fingers to key and maneuver a mouse on a PC system. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, balance, and use arms and hands to reach, pull, push, clasp and move a variety of materials. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The noise level in the office work environment is low. The employee will frequently be exposed to a heavy manufacturing work environment that includes high noise level and exposure to chemical vapors, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, vibration and electricity. Eye protection is required at all times in the manufacturing environment. Hard hats may be required in certain areas of the work environment. Particle masks, gloves, wrist braces, aprons, back support, ear protection, etc. are available for use.
