USG Corporation is looking for an Intermediate Accountant for its Auburn, Washington plant.

 

Position Description

 Under limited supervision determines required processes for entry for payment by Oracle Cash Disbursements responsibilities. This includes reviewing invoices for pricing based on approved Purchase Orders, extended pricing and proper miscellaneous charges resulting with total invoice amount. Reconciles batch input totals to Accounts Payable plant Register. Capable of troubleshooting billing errors.Prepares month end accruals for non P.O. services primarily including utility and freight services incurred at month end.Reviews sales and use tax schedule report adding use tax liability that was not entered through the reporting system for proper accrual of sales and use tax liability at month end.Balances and reconciles uninvoiced Receipts report with Accounts Payable General Ledger accounts including tracing transactions through previous accounting actions to determine source of discrepancies, resolving issues in order to balance Report to GL Accounts. Reviews Uninvoiced Receipts Report for aged items to determine proper liability status by investigating non payment issues in order determine to resolution of aged liability.Greets people visiting plant office and notifies appropriate plant personnel of visitors arrival. Answers telephone call from automated answering system and directs the call to the proper plant personnel.Performs upon request expense studies, drawing data together for analysis.  Responsible for petty cash balancing, reimbursements and imprest fund.  Review daily shipping register schedules and reconcile to monthly totals.Assist the department with the following tasks:  averaging inventory item costing, manufacturing bill of materials, physical inventory reconciliation, balance shipping logs, balance accrual rebuild report, and other tasks as needed.

 Position Requirements

1.  Associates’ Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field as well as 3 to 5 years of related experience.

2.  Experience with Oracle is desired.

3.  Working knowledge of plant accounting and administrative procedures preferred.

4.  Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication, analytical and decision making skills with the ability to meet deadlines.  Individual must be a team player.

5.  Computer literate, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
