Internal Auditor- Dallas/Ft. Worth near DFW Airport South entrance

Dean Foods is seeking experienced auditors to support expansion of the internal audit focus beyond Sarbanes Oxley compliance. Ideal candidates will have 2-4 years internal audit or public accounting experience and a desire to pursue a career in Internal Audit that offers  hands-on exposure to our company's operations and may lead to future opportunities in finance or operations. Participate in internal audits with a focus in accounting/finance, operations and compliance. Assess risks, determine the effectiveness of internal controls and assess the potential impact of internal control deficiencies. Examine records to ensure proper recording and authorization of transactions, compliance with policies and applicable laws. Conduct interviews with key personnel and gather information for testing the effectiveness of processes and controls. Perform detailed reviews to validate the processes and controls. Help clients solve problems by identifying opportunities and making recommendations for enhancement in processes, procedures and policies to improve internal control efficiency and effectiveness. Prepare reports of findings and recommendations for management and the audit committee. Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and ethics. Travel approximately 40 - 50% throughout the U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Graduate degree is a plus. 2+ years experience in public accounting and/or a robust corporate internal audit department. Outstanding communication and relationship building skills. Demonstrated ability to plan and execute assignments and ensure deliverables meet specifications and deadlines. Ability to document, analyze and make recommendations for improvements in operational processes and financial controls. CPA or progress towards certification (preferred). Experience with manufacturing or consumer products companies (preferred). Experience in planning the approach and scope of audit programs. Ability to develop a thorough understanding of company accounts, financial processes, systems, policies and procedures. Experience in assessing accounting practices and the internal controls and operating efficiency of business units throughout the organization by evaluating key financial processes. Ability to prepare formal written reports expressing an opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system.
