Inventory Control Clerk

The Inventory Control Clerk, under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, assists warehouse workers, purchasing agents and production departments in obtaining and issuing material to production departments to promote the best flow of material. This position follows inventory procedures, including determination and computer entry of inventory planning data, computer entry of material requirements issues for repair and production orders, initiation of stock orders, cycle counts and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
Some specific duties and responsibilities include:Generate outbound for production orders, material requisitions and sales order picking list.Review and expedite outbound exception reports for missing material with purchasing, receiving and the warehouse to insure that backorders are processed as soon as they arrive.Verifies completeness of shop order and closes shop orders.Post daily labor hours for production department.Work with Production Lead Hand and Warehouse Manager to insure that parts are being issued to production in a timely manner to meet production schedules.Generate emergency parts orders to purchasing and Busch Manufacturing LLC and set up hand carries from Busch Manufacturing LLC.Research part inventory discrepancies discovered through cycle counts.Generate cycle count inventory count and recount sheets for use in stockroom.Process cycle count information into computer system.Process various paperwork (receiving tickets, MMT's, SA's, etc.) from warehouse workers.Prepare MR's for filing by ordering any parts not in stock.Maintain on hand files of MMT's, MR's, Shop Orders, Sales Order Picking List Outbound and Cycle Count Information for inventory references.Perform routine duties with minimal supervision.Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures and report all unsafe activities to manager and/or HR.Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.Perform other duties as assigned and to provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
Required knowledge skills and abilities include:Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to computer rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
Required qualifications, training and experience include:Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical/Environmental demands:Must be able to stand, walk, use hands to fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl under 1/3 of the time. Must be able to sit over 2/3 of the time.May be exposed to dust on occasion.May have to lift up to 10 lbs.
Physical activity level:Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
Work environment:Moderate noise.
