Job Overview:



ATMI is seeking a hands-on Implant Applications Engineer to provide technical support to ATMI?s ion implant customers from alpha to beta phase and throughout full product life cycle. This individual will act as a liaison between ATMI sales and technical staff with an eye on the customer. The Implant Applications Engineer will partner with customers to develop methods to optimize productivity, reduce tool downtime and lower overall customer costs. This key position is also responsible for obtaining customer feedback on new products as well as competitive offerings for use in setting product development strategies. This role is preferably located at ATMI?s corporate headquarters in Danbury, Connecticut.



Primary Responsibilities:



· Assist Advanced Technical Development and Marketing teams in developing product specifications and applications useable by specific customers;

· Provide technical support for ATMI ion implant materials and processes in the field at customers in the US, Asia and Europe;

· Perform, applications laboratory testing of new and developmental products in-house

· Provide technical support to the Sales organization for developing customer presentations;

· Provide hands-on assistance and troubleshooting of hardware and associated materials;

· Work with Sales team to match ATMI products to specific customer needs;

· Provide Marketing team with technical analysis and summary of new applications for ATMI products;

· Establish and document best practices for product installation;

· Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the operating limits of ATMI implant equipment and materials;

· Collaborate with customers to generate product performance data to guide technical development and assist marketing;

· Understand customer specific installation issues, and provide hands on assistance in ATMI product implementation ;

· Lead alpha and beta implementation for new products

· Assist Sales team to knowledgeably document and communicate customer specifications;

· Willingness to travel up to 30-60%, both domestically and internationally.





Education/Experience:



· Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics or an associated technical field required (with advanced degree desirable);

· 5+ years experience with operations and maintenance of ion implant equipment targeted (with consideration to time spent in similar capacity during post-graduate work);

· Proven record of using technical knowledge to build credibility and trust with customers;

· Previous experience in an operations or manufacturing environment highly desirable;

· Strong MS Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoint) experience;

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
