LAN-WAN Helpdesk Administrator

DESCRIPTION:



Leading South FL based company seeks a LAN-WAN Helpdesk Administrator to focus on user and system support for the corporate office and remote support for subsidiary sites throughout the USA.

Other responsibilities include:
PC hardware and software installation, maintenance and user training.

Laptop hardware and software installation, maintenance and user training.

Basic LAN-WAN connectivity testing.

Troubleshoot connections to switches, hubs, and routers.

Check and release quarantined spam and virus E-mails.

Test server connectivity.

Troubleshot CAT5E, Fiber, and patch panel wiring cabinets.

Identifies problems, troubleshoots and provides advice to assist users with remote connectivity, E-mail, printing, and dialup.

Provide application support with Microsoft Office Suite of products.

Provide support with virus removal, Spyware, and  Addware removal

Basic telephone set and connectivity testing.
Ensuring normal business hours coverage to respond and service user questions and requests at the Help Desk.

Keep log of helpdesk requests and their resolutions.

Coordinate with other IT areas (Application, LAN-WAN-Telecom) to resolve problems

Will operate in a mainframe and microcomputer environment.

Qualified applicants will possess strong diagnostic skills and excellent communication skills, as well as practical experience with each the following:

* Proficient with computer hardware
* Networking with TCP/IP

* Basic knowledge of routers, switches, hubs, and analog-DSL modems.

* CAT5, CAT5E, Fiber, Patch panels
* Windows '9x
* Windows 2000 Professional
* Windows XP Professional
* Basic knowledge in Windows 2000 Active Directory Administration
* Microsoft Office 2000 & XP
* Microsoft SQL 2000 and other database technologies a Plus.

* Lucent analog and digital phone systems a plus.

An ideal candidate will have 1 – 2 years experience in positions such as Help Desk, Desktop Support, or as a LAN Administrator supporting multiple sites including remote. Degree in information technologies or related field a plus.
