 Job Category: Manufacturing/Production/Operations  Type: Full Time, Employee  Salary: 55,000.00 - 65,000.00 USD /year  Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree Job id:  6259TIH Title:  LEAN ENGINEER---CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT EXPERT Location:  Chicago, IL Salary:  Commensurate with skills & Experience My Client is a World Class Organization with locations throughout the world.  This particular division is within the Climate Control sector specific to manufacturing devices used for temperature control where they are the leader in brand names.  Do to continued growth; there is an excellent opportunity for a results oriented Lean Engineer at their Addison Illinois Facility.  In this position you will manage the process to implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing to facilitate operational excellence and improved productivity. Provide the leadership on Lean thinking, Six Sigma, and Lean processes. Drive continuous improvement projects through the implementation of tools such as LDMS, 5’s, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Work Stream Teams, 20 Keys, etc. Provide consultation and training services as necessary to educate and engage the business and install common metrics to measure progress.  Key objectives will include:o Strategic Vision - Help provide the strategic vision for the Lean Deployment process. Recommend, develop and implement Lean principles that enhance the effectiveness of the facility. Champion radical change that pushes for continual improvement in alignment with Operation’s strategic plan. o Performance Management – Develop and implement performance metrics for Lean processes in the support of the overall business strategies and goals. Track and validate all savings attributed to the Lean deployment. Root Cause analysis and problem solving methods. o Continuous Improvement – Facilitate continuous improvement interventions throughout the facility. Techniques used will include Six Sigma, lean manufacturing - Kaizen, PFMEA, DFMEA, SMED, SPC, Visual Factory, Kanban, work balancing, and manufacturing flow models. o Communication – Develop and implement communication tools to foster the Lean environment and enhance a Lean culture. o Process Improvement- Identify areas for process and system improvements by analyzing the processes and systems using lean manufacturing tools. Assist department designees in developing their needs and integrating them into the lean manufacturing vision. Utilize Lean methodologies and IE principles to drive continuous process improvements. Reduce manufacturing cycle time. Development and Promotion of Flow in both manufacturing and administrative processes to eliminate waste. o Training – Train and sustain the workforce on all aspects of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma. o General - The Lean Engineer will be responsible for re-engineering current manufacturing and administrative processes following lean methodologies at the direction of the Operation Excellence Manager. You will be challenged with supporting and enhancing our culture through the employment of JIT, VSM, Kaizen, Setup Reduction and TPM/OEE.  Qualifications: o Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, with experience and emphasis on Lean Manufacturing. o 5+years of professional industry experience in operations.  Must possess the following technical competencies (in no particular order): o Lean Principles o Mechanically Astute o Lean Principles Awareness (5’s, Kaizen, Process Mapping, LDMS, Kanban, etc) o Planning & Organizing o Problem Solving & Analysis o Handling Complexity o Presentation & Communication Skills o Computer skills proficiency (Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, Email, etc.) o Interpersonal, Teamwork, Leadership Skills o AutoCad/Solid Works a plus  If you are driven by the ability to be “hands on” with an opportunity to have valued insight into the success of a Lean Sigma program then you should submit you’re resume to Tim Heth, Continuous Improvement Expert, for further review.  Key Words:  Lean, Lean Engineering, Lean Sigma, Six Sigma, Lean Expert, Continuous ImprovementOnly candidates with permanent work status need apply.
