The shift schedule for this position is a 12-hour, 3 on 3 off, rotating schedule.

DUTIES
- Provide prompt and accurate information regarding the quality of material being produced and tested
- Keep Quality and Production management informed of all quality problems
- Perform film analysis from film lines and slitters
- Use all analytical testing equipment to determine film physical properties
- Visually examine film samples in lab and process areas to ensure that the film visual quality meets application requirements
- Keep track of the operating condition of all lab equipment
- Advise appropriate personnel of any out of control test results
- Use computer system to store date and publish reports
- Use quality log book to communicate between shift
- Follow department testing and information routing procedures
- Knowledgeable about customer specifications
- Knowledgeable of basic chemical handling and disposal and basic chemical lab techniques
- Enter work orders for maintenance needs
- Comply with all department and company safety guidelines
- Comply with all housekeeping guidelines
- Train to be certified GQS auditor, and once trained, perform internal audits of GQS elements as scheduled
- Maintain lab coverage by participating in Quality group on-call schedule according to procedure
- Knowledgeable of Tubular GQS procedures and specifications
- Knowledgeable of typical problems and difficulties with each type of test equipment or test

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, GED equivalent or High School certificate of completion is required
- College degree is preferred
- Previous successful lab experience preferred
