John Deere World Headquarters is seeking an experienced high potential Lean Manufacturing / Process Improvement professional who has a solid background applying and deploying lean manufacturing tools and techniques across all aspects of the business.In this position, you will help lead & globally deploy John Deere’s lean manufacturing strategy called the Deere Production System (DPS) and create a long term continuous improvement strategy for the company.The Deere Production System provides John Deere with a proven and robust manufacturing framework to rapidly reduce the time and cost of achieving and sustaining World-Class Build-to-Demand capability. It is focused on improving the speed and flexibility of its factories to run asset lean and exceed customer delivery expectations. To successfully fulfill this role, the candidate will be expected to: Work with all levels of John Deere leadership to organize and execute lean manufacturing deployment strategies. Direct the activities of cross-functional lean assessment teams to validate enterprise deployment. Provide specific guidance to factories in achieving DPS goals and metrics. Develop & implement continuous improvement strategies across all aspects of the business. Benchmark Industry trends and best practices, and disseminate information across the enterprise. Travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time. Education Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Engineering discipline (e.g. Mechanical, Industrial, Quality, etc.). Advanced degree preferred. Required Skills and Experience Experience leading the successful implementation of a lean system in Manufacturing, Service or Design. Experience in Shingijutsu, Toyota Production System (TPS), or other lean production system. Broad business awareness and understanding to articulate process gap identification and resolution. Experience managing change across a manufacturing business, division or company. Strong project management skills. 5+ years experience in manufacturing engineering, operations and/or supply management. Demonstrated team leadership and effective communication skills. Desired Skills and Experience Familiarity with engineering, manufacturing, quality, planning, logistics and maintenance systems. International experience and cultural sensitivity.
