We are seeking an experienced Lean Manufacturing Process Specialist to drive continuous process improvement across all manufacturing operations through the application of Lean Thinking. 

Job Summary:

Responsible for driving continuous process improvement across all manufacturing operations through the application of Lean Thinking. The specialist will apply Lean methodologies to eliminate waste through continuous improvement. This position will develop and enable tools for process improvement to include lean production techniques, systems thinking, project management and other improvement techniques as applicable to deliver rapid and measurable increases in efficiency, quality, process and bottom line results. This position is responsible for leading and managing cross functional teams in the identification and implementation of manufacturing waste and process variability elimination. The ideal candidate would provide continual improvement support to critical business processes throughout Pelco Site Operations.


SPECIFIC SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

· Strong working knowledge of and experience with successfully implementing lean manufacturing required.

· Strong working knowledge of statistical process control and Six Sigma quality systems and tools.

· Bachelors in Industrial Technology or equivalent required; Masters desired.

· Knowledge and experience with various quality tools including but not limited to Pareto charts, process capability studies, Fishbone charts, and various control charts.

· Knowledge of manufacturing and production equipment.

· Knowledge of production automation systems.

· Ability to lead manufacturing excellence, diagnostic events, and to train others.

· Ability to work with multi-functional project teams, using successful hands-on implementation and engineering related computer tools.

· Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written form.

· Ability to work in a design team to fulfill the requirements of a project.

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, company management and fellow employees.

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Drives lean implementation in alignment with department’s strategic goals.

· Mentors and trains the manufacturing team on Lean principles, tools and applications.

· Monitors and tracks progress with a project planning tool.

· Converts Lean & Six Sigma training into actions and results.

· Identifies improvement opportunities within critical processes to reduce Waste, Process Variation & Cost.

· Leads Diagnostics to identify and quantify improvement opportunities and develop implementation plans.

· Drive Lean culture in the company in coordination with the Management Team.

· Initiates and leads business process improvement using the Lean Tools to reduce costs, improve productivity, and improve quality.

· Help the manufacturing / process / team leads and other personnel set the lean vision for the manufacturing, and develop gap plans and action items to achieve this vision.

· Identifies and leads large and strategic kaizen projects.

· Effectively interfaces with teams ranging from executive staff level to shop floor personnel.

· Works closely with a team of Engineers and Production personnel during product development to identify and gather potential Production issues in order to be proactive in problem solving.

· Conducts research and development of potential production technologies that could be applied to existing and future products in Pelco production cells.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

· Eight years of Lean Management Experience.
